Within the ENEDIS administration unit, d²X Expertise has ensured the implementation of solutions adapted to the constraints of the Linky project.

Context

A new generation of smart meters is being tested in two areas of the national territory. These meters, called “Linky”, can be read and programmed remotely (ex: price changes, change in the power subscribed to, etc.) and will have to equip 35 million households by 2017. This ambitious Enedis project for the Electricity Distribution business is as big an evolution as the arrival of the Worldwide Internet was to the Telecommunications’ business .

Mission

Within the IT administration, our consultant is called upon unit to ensure :

  • The follow-up of new releases and incidents,
  • The management of a task force responsible for updating embedded hardware and software versions,
  • The management of the interfaces with the IS partners and the relationship with the operators,
  • Security management of the IT equipment.

Issues & Goals

Giving the Green Light for the general implementation of Linky to 35 million consumers, requires solid guarantees of robustness, performance and exploitability of the solution. The experimental phase must provide tangible factual elements that will allow the CRE (Electricity Regulation Commission) to decide on the deployment.

Benefits

Thanks to d²X Expertise’s knowledge of EDF’s modus operandi, of the metering business and of its experience with industrial communicating meters, our consultant is fully able to propose solutions perfectly adapted to the constraints and to the operating problems.
