What is your double life?

"I walk with my family every year the Camino of Santiago de Compostela"

When and how did you start?

I have always loved walking (in the city, in the countryside, in the mountains): it is a way of being aware of the world around me, knowing my environment, connecting myself to reality, which is very useful in our very dematerialized jobs.

For the past 10 years, I have been going with my wife and children for a week's walk every year on the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela. It wasn't very « fashionable » a few years ago, but it has become a fairly common occupation these days. We walk at a rate of the slower ones, but we walk together about 20 km a day. We meet other pilgrims on the way, or in the evenings in the inns along the way - when we are not camping.

What do you like about this sport?

More than a sport, it is a privileged moment for the whole family in a simple setting where the reality of space-time regains its rights, allowing people to meet others, to marvel at the beauty of the landscapes, to make an effort over time, to help each other...

And in your daily life, how does your passion fit in?

We would not miss this annual event for anything in the world and our children encourage us to do so. This gives us strength for the whole year! On a daily basis, we try to keep this simplicity and availability that allows us to have a life « connected »... to reality!

Have you acquired any skills through the sport you use in your professional life?

Good question! To leave with 7 children makes you develop a necessary organization, an ability to motivate your small "team" to reach the objective with pragmatism (on time and within budget!), and the ability to seize opportunities...

In short, some good dispositions for a successful project!
